I really like the way the ankle of these socks is designed - I hate it when socks pinch or restrict around the ankle and these are shaped really well to the foot without squeezing. They don't leave lines or red marks on my ankle when I remove them like many socks do. The material on these is warm, soft and stretchy. I felt like it was even better after washing, right out of the package there was a very slight stiffness to the material in the toe. I really like the Coolmesh quarter sock style and I have both the wool and regular weight socks. These quickly became my favorite socks and I now own several pairs
